Little Current Public School is located in the North Channel waterfront town of Little Current on beautiful Manitoulin Island. The school catchment area extends southeast to Bay Estates and southwest to Bidwell Road in Honora and includes the First Nation communities of Aundeck Omni Kaning and Sheguiandah. Little Current Public School is the largest of four Rainbow elementary schools on the island, with a student population of 300 students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.

Little Current Public School offers a variety of unique programs to support our students in their learning. These programs include Intensive Support Programs for students with special needs as well as an Early Intervention program. Students at Little Current Public School have the option of learning Anishinaabemowin or French as a Second Language.

Community involvement continues to be a strong focus for Little Current Public School. Our school is home to a before and after school daycare program as well as a toddler/preschool daycare program all housed within our school. Volunteers play a critical and valued role in the school. There is an active School Council that runs various school wide events for families. In addition, a daily breakfast and snack program is supported by charitable foundations and local sponsors. We are thankful for and have active partnerships with our First Nations communities, NEMI township, and local businesses.

Little Current Public School students enjoy an active co-curricular program provided by the dedicated and enthusiastic staff as well as by volunteers from the communities. There is a wide range of activities in athletics, the arts, as well as science and technology.
